I dont really understand why would you want to relocate the key ignition...it seats at the best place... Plus you will have a hole in your triple tree that will look a little odd... My advice, leave it there and spend the time in another thing... Like horn relocator or airbox mod...

 

What about the steering lock? Are you going to carry along a method of locking up the bike?

 

:crazy:, some like their toys a little different, almost as good as having the barbie dolls in different sizes to please the young girls that won't have that perfect figure.

Ive considered removing mine completely and replacing it with just a mis-labeled toggle switch. But then i realized how much work it would be to remove it and everything, so i gave up for now. I guess i could cut the key down and put a knob/cover on it that completely covers the ignition.

To me, the key is right out in the open, but i had a friend ride it and he couldnt even find the key (it was already in of course). Could always cover the ignition /and/ put a toggle switch on it. The Illusion of Security, yaknow.

 

Yeah, I think the only real way would be to get a chirpy disk lock and park it in a very conspicuous location.

 

Let me know where you want to relocate. We could do something like this. Remove the triple and send to us as well. We can remove the mount and powder coat it. Not going to stop anyone from stealing it but will make it look much different not having a key up front. Maybe do a key fob with no key. Possibilities are endless. T

 

Let me play around with some ideas this weekend of exactly where I want it. Would love to work with you on this. I'm not interested in a key fob or RFID tho. Just a relocation of the OEM ignition switch.

I already got the headlight assembly off awaiting some parts so I'll run some ideas.

You think you guys could do an extension for the harness if I needed to move it far enough back? That way it'd just be me finding the spot and fabbing a mount.

This is kind of what I was looking at. I loved both his SEMA bikes. Johns a fucking wizard

 

still a push button start would be cool always can do kill switch to offset the thieves

The only real downside I see to doing a key relocation is loss of the steering lock.
